NXOpen.Net html file not working

NXOpen.Net html file not working

NXOpen.Net html file not working

(OP)
To begin I believe this is a problem on the machine rather than with the file.

I have tried to use both the 7.5 version and the 9 version and they are both doing the same thing. Which is, that though I can search topics the main window never shows any data, even the borders appear to be missing, it is just and empty window.

Background: I have used the 7.5 file before with no problem, but on a different machine.

This is a new build, recently formatted and rebuilt. Currently running Windows 7 Professional UG 7.5.5.4 and UG 9.0.1.3.

I am wondering if maybe I am missing a plugin or something, because when I tried to access the help from UG it told me "Unable to display help information. Cannot find the HTML file."

RE: NXOpen.Net html file not working

Please contact GTAC as there are serious JAVA issues with respect to getting the NX Help files to properly load and be accessible from within NX.

If anyone else has this particular problem, there is apparently a documentation package that is installed separately. The help documentation will not work without that installation.

It does not cost extra and it does not require a license, though you will need a web key to access it.

RE: NXOpen.Net html file not working

The help files are a separate install. Starting at NX8, the programming help is NOT installed by default. Be sure to check through the options and pick the programming help files.

RE: NXOpen.Net html file not working

If you're talking about the NX Docs, they now come configured such that when you install them, you must explicitly choose to install the NX Open portion of the NX Help files. Out-of-the-box, they are NOT automatically installed. In the past there were no options, it was all or nothing. There is no extra cost involved and all you need is either NX Doc media (DVD) or else the downloaded NX Docs install kit from the GTAC support area and you will have everything that you need. However, the JAVA issue is a real issue and if you still have problems after installing all of the NX Docs you may still need to contact GTAC for help getting the proper version of JAVA installed.

After discussing with GTAC for a good long while, the problem was discovered that it lies with Firefox. The newest version has changed something, not sure what, which has caused the problem. Internet Explorer will work for accessing the docs. An IR has been opened on the issue, not sure of the number but I will post here when I find out.

So yes there is a java fix, but it is for the newest version of java and it fixes a search problem (had to install that one as well). Unfortunately that did not solve the current issue.

Will keep updated on any solutions to the issue.

This issue is now listed as a problem report.
