Custom BOM Balloons

Custom BOM Balloons

Custom BOM Balloons

(OP)
So our standard parametric BOM balloon is a custom balloon... it has the index number (index) on top and the part number (asm.mbr.number) on the bottom. I got this working just fine for conventional models and drawings.

Sometimes, we have imported wire diagrams inserted on our drawings which are only imported as line entities. For this, we have a "dumb" balloon that we manually add to the components on these imported diagrams and we manually have to type in the index number and the part number. This was thought to be acceptable initially, but whenever the BOM is changed, all of these manual balloons' index numbers need to be changed as well. I want to try and fix this with parameters and relations.

Basically I'm thinking there has to be a way to just add the part number once and have some sort of parameter or relation read the part number parameter and know to use the appropriate index number based on that part number. In this case, whenever the BOM is changed, the index number would obviously change on it's own.

Is there a way to do this in a custom BOM balloon symbol?
