NX9 section view workflow

NX9 section view workflow

(OP)
Hi experts,
I have a question to section view workflow in nx9 drafting, is this the right way I've chosen?
Is there a better way orient the the section view orient angle? Please follow the attached avi.

sorry new in NX
regards
Erwin

RE: NX9 section view workflow

That's probably how I would go about doing it. Of course, I would 'Hide' the sketched line and dimension after I had created the Section View as I assume that you would do as well.

thank you John,
is there no other way to redirect, (re)orient the displaced section view, I'm no sure doing the straight way.
Is there another section view type can do the same?
TIA

RE: NX9 section view workflow

When you say "displaced section view", which step is the "displaced" ?
The final rotation of the view in the paper plane ?

To my knowledge of the ISO standard, this view is not displaced, it is OK in both rotations. The default orientation is to me much easier to understand and therefore preferred.
-The "golden objective" of a drawing is to be as simple to understand as possible.

Anyhow, you can simplify the sequence by instead of the extra sketch use the vector sub function when defining the hinge line and also move the section arrows in the section view dialog. See attached image.

Tomas

RE: NX9 section view workflow

I think you're correct, that section of the dialog appears to be misplaced. It should be with the Settings for Dimensions.
