Inspection of a vacuum relief (Check valve)

Inspection of a vacuum relief (Check valve)

(OP)
In my work scope (As a PSV technician) I`ve got some vacuum breakers.
Acording to the work procedure, I`m supposed to test them according to API 527..

Thats not really suited for these devices, but what is the right standard to follow?

The devices are normaly placed on hot water tanks (Pot water) and radiators for some diesel engines.
The devices themselfe is check valves of various brands.

What is the most common inspection routine and maintenance for these?
