Composite Deck from 1990

Composite Deck from 1990

(OP)
Hello,

I am checking the capacity of an existing floor deck the reads on the plans, "4-1/2" CONCRETE SLAB ON 2" DEEP 20 GA. GALV. COMP. META FLOOR DECK REINF. WITH 6X6-W1.4XW1.4 WWF."

Should I assume this deck has the same capacity as modern 2VLI deck?

RE: Composite Deck from 1990

You can assume anything you're willing to put yourself and your company at risk for. Can't someone go out and look at it? Personally, I'd like to look at a picture of the deck from the bottom, even to just see if the little dimples are there denoting composite.

RE: Composite Deck from 1990

I wouldn't assume anything either.

Do you even know the gage of the deck, and whether or not it was shored during construction?
