Dyno Rental or Lab

Dyno Rental or Lab

Dyno Rental or Lab

(OP)
Hello all,

I am in need of some testing for electric motors up to 30 HP to measure RPM, torque, voltage, etc. This will just be a one-time testing to prove that the motors perform as stated on the nametag, so I am looking to either rent a dyno or go to a lab to get them tested. Does anyone know where I can get this done?

Thank you

RE: Dyno Rental or Lab

The world is a big place. Are you looking for hints on finding a place or an exact recommendation?

RE: Dyno Rental or Lab

I'll take at face value your need to do this, but I am curious as to why you would need to...is the factory acceptance/certification testing data either unavailable or suspect? Motors not performing as expected?

And unless shipping costs for lab testing or of a dyno for field testing are not a factor, it would be helpful to know at least in general terms where on the earth you are located.

Sorry I should have included more information. I am trying to get certification on some motors and need them tested. I am located in the pacific northwest, but do not necessarily need something local as shipping costs are not an issue. Thanks for the responses.

RE: Dyno Rental or Lab

Any decent university would be able to run a machine that size on a dyno in their machines lab. Some are more commercially-minded than others, so find one that takes on commercial work. If they don't run a electrical machines class and have a teaching lab with this sort of equipment in place then reconsider whether they are a decent university... wink
