Dear All,

As per welding schedule ER 70S-A1 Filler wire was to be used for welding Carbon steel joints of Boiler tubes, But the contractor by mistake used ER-70S2 filler for some joints. Will this have adverse effect on performance of boiler ? do we need to cut entire joints..?? What can be the possible adverse effect if we don't cut such joints..?

Pls. help

Alok

RE: ER-70 S-A1 V/s ER 70-S2

Life of welds would depend on operating temperature. ER70S-2 has been used on carbon steel tubes for decades and is stiil be used for boiler tubes.

RE: ER-70 S-A1 V/s ER 70-S2
