Connecting Piezo Crystals in Series

Connecting Piezo Crystals in Series

Connecting Piezo Crystals in Series

(OP)
I'm sorry, I don't have much experience with piezoelectricity and could really use your help.

I have with me piezoelectric quartz, ceramics. They are gold on the top and bottom and clear (crystal like) in between. Can someone provide a step by step on how to configure them in series? I know how to connect thins in series, but in this case where would I connect the wires to on the ceramic?

A link that shows something similar is provided.

Thank you

RE: Connecting Piezo Crystals in Series

You don't connect to the "ceramic" you connect to the metal (gold part).

Likely these are sandwiched between plates that have the wires connected to them. If you want to stack them up you may need to solder them in an oven using solder paste. Some LOW temperature solder paste.

Smear paste between them like peanut butter sandwiches stacked up and then bake them.
