Sa213 T-23 Tube material

Sa213 T-23 Tube material

(OP)
I am looking for approx. 6' of 2" OD SA213 t-23 .220 to .265 wall tube material and have found in only bulk quantity's over seas. Anyone have some for sale? I have a HRSG in Nevada that has had failures with this material.

RE: Sa213 T-23 Tube material

(OP)
They have (4) gas fired HRSG's at this particular plant and have had failures in in all of them. The failure is always tube number 9 from the east or west wall and in the third or fourth row approx. 1" off the lower header is where the tube severs (there are (2) row of T-23). They believe that it is an attemperation issue because there are sprays on either side in the top of this section (tube 9 area). The problem I have is I found the Code Case 2199-5 that states this T-23 material is to be treated like a P5A material but it also states that a separate weld procedure will be qualified for the material. I need a grade 23 material to qualify a procedure and don't really want to buy a run of it, which is the only option I have found.

RE: Sa213 T-23 Tube material

Sounds like a water hammer event that shears the tube. Unless this problem is resolved there will be repeat tube failures and more repairs will be needed, which means more T23 tube material. As a minimum with four HRSG's I would have several tube sticks of T23 in inventory.
