I have an overhung fan mounted from two pillow block bearings. I’m trying to work out the bearing loadings, but so far I can only find calculations which look for kN loads, whereas I’m looking at a moment load-if the fan is mounted at a greater distance, the moment load on the bearings has to increase (while the mass stays the same) and vice-versa. Any ideas on how I can resolve my moment loads into forces?
