How to instance/pattern a screw series hole
How to instance/pattern a screw series hole
(OP)
Hello,
Anyone know how to instance/pattern a complex hole? I have a countersunk hole in the attached part. Trying to do circular instance 4 places equally spaced.
-Originally created in NX6.0.5.3 the instance feature doesn't recognize the screw series hole as a feature to select.
-In NX9.0.0.19 I can select the screw series hole, but I get a message 'screw hole series is not supported and will be ignored'
I can use pattern geometry to get the hole in 4 places, however I don't seem to be able to boolean subtract them.
Thanks,
Ryan

you have used the wrong option. Hole series have to use in assembly when you want to drill more then one part with the same hole.
Thank you...
Using NX 8 and TC9.1

I'll try the Synchronous pattern face, that should work. (althought i'd much rather have the boolean functionality directly in the pattern feature dialog)
Cubalibre00,
Excellent topic. I tried to create that same hole in a 'normal' countersunk hole feature, however I was unable to put the c'sink depth in... I was trying that in NX6, perhaps NX9 has this capability. I'll try that as well.
Thanks Gents, these should get me to a workaround at worst.
