Tapered Thread Hole Through All

Tapered Thread Hole Through All

Tapered Thread Hole Through All

(OP)
I am inserting a number of tapered pipe thread hole into my part. The hole feature does not give me any other option other than blind for the depth of the hole. I would like the hole to intersect the whole part and the note to represent it as such. My part is 1/2" thick but my hole depth callout is .749...

RE: Tapered Thread Hole Through All

What version ar you using?

The hole feature does allow a thru hole to be created. Create the thru hole, then apply the thread to it.

Wildfire 5. I can start by defining the hole as "through all" but as soon as I select the tapered hole option the only option is "blind". My hole note gives the depth of the hole which is greater than the thickness of the part!

When adding pipe threads to thicker parts, I typically need to use a blind dimension that is deeper than the thickness of the part (which causes problems if the part is made thicker later).

We'll update to Creo eventually. Maybe they fixed this there.
