Electrical Power System

Electrical Power System

Electrical Power System

(OP)
What is more important part of commercial electrical power system Design.

  1. Safety
  2. Reliability
  3. Flexibility
  4. Maintainability
  5. Efficiency
Is there anything else to keep in mind before design a power distribution plan.

RE: Electrical Power System

Economy and know-how. Plus good electrical design skills and working knowledge about standards are also good to add.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

RE: Electrical Power System

Probably (2).

Keep in mind all those aspects aren't isolated but highly interrelated. For instance reliability provides safety but reliability requires good maintainability, while flexibility can increase reliability and efficiency can also impact reliability.

@Skogsgurra
If we say standards, that means, we cannot compromise "Safety" right? and that would be the most important part. Talking about "Economy", we often see facility owners, ignoring safety measures such as regular maintenance and emphasizing on efficiency more, asking it to be more and more productive.
In that case, how do we deal the situation keeping in mind these 5 parts of electrical power distribution system design?

I think you've explained the best way an engineer could. Is there anything else to keep in mind? like Skogsgurra says
Economy and know-how. Plus good electrical design skills are required.
