Definining pressure on line, N/mm?
Definining pressure on line, N/mm?
(OP)
Hi
I'm new to Ansys.
I'm working on a cross section of a pressure vessel. I have the dimensions modeled as a half cross section of the vessel.
But when adding the pressure "on line" on the inner line of the cross section of the vessel defined as N/mm, N/length, the units is kind of strange to me.
I know that the tank is designed for a pressure of 1.85 N/mm^2, but how do I calculate the correct value in N/mm for a section line?
I can't visualize it. Newton pr length!? What the heck. :)

I will try modeling in 3d after that, probably more accurate. I have only worked on 2d models in Ansys, so it should be interesting.
Thanks

It makes sense if I think of the cross section as an extrusion, I got confused.
