Is a macro the best and/or the only way to automatically change my Visualization Preferences and color palette? We get files from outside sources and most of the time need to change the color palette and some visualization settings to our company standards. It would be nice to be able to do this with vb but I am unable to record a journal and can not find examples. I was able to create a template to apply to a part which is nice but I would like to be able to cycle through an assembly.

Thanks,
Kevin

RE: Visualization Preferences

Yes, macro / journal is the best method.

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC9.1

Can a journal switch backgrounds and color palettes?

RE: Visualization Preferences

I think palettes might get you what you are looking for. open a file that has the colors the way you want them. The go to preferences->palettes click new palette. Right click in the empty space of the new palette and chose new entry-> Visualization Templet. Now open a file that you want to change and pick the newly created Visualization Templet.

UGperson,

I like using the palettes, is it possible to us a journal(.vb) to apply the palette? It would be nice to be able to run a journal to apply the palette to all components in an assembly.

Thanks,
Kevin
