Experts,

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between API 5L Gr.X42 and API 5L Gr.X42R?

Is there a difference?

Our project specs out API 5L PSL-2 Gr.X42 - this is what we ordered. What we received is marked Gr.X42R - the MTR also refers to Gr.X42R.

I'm looking in API Spec. 5L and can't seem to find anything about Gr.X42R.

RE: API 5L Gr. X42R

Look at table 3.

R means "as rolled" without any further mechanical or heat treatment

My motto: Learn something new every day

Also: There's usually a good reason why everyone does it that way
