Hi,

I am creating a machining drawing created from casting model (diffuser). In the machining drawing I have to show two different views (with vanes in one view and without vanes in another view.).

In Pro/E we can acheive it by using master representation concept (I will remove the vanes by revolve cut operation and exclude it in new reprensentation).

In Unigraphics is it possible to create different representations as in Pro/E ?

Thanks in advance.

Sandeep

RE: Similar views with different representations

Hey,
I think You can create two different body on two different layer. (p.ex. by "Extract Body" and delete vanes).
And after by "Layer Visible in View", You show and hide defined layer in every view.

Best regards

Michal Nowak

If you're talking a piece part, then you will need to create two separate models. If you're talking about an Assembly, then you use Arranagements which can be made-up of different sets of Components in different orientations.

Have also a look at "Render Sets"

Hi All,

In Solidworks we can create configurations in the part modeling in the same part varying the features combination.

Is there any similar way in NX to create configurations in same part ? I am using NX8.5. Please clarify the doubt.

Thanks in advance.

Sandeep

RE: Similar views with different representations

Not at the same time. You can create features and then suppress the ones that you don't want to see but unless you create multiple bodies, either from scratch or copied and then modified, you will only have a single 'representation' for each piece part model.
