Corrosion problem in Stove

Corrosion problem in Stove

Corrosion problem in Stove

(OP)
Hello everyone. I have a problem with corrosion. You can view these image influence the corrosion. So it is the st 10 material sheet 2 mm.
We notice Corrosion following 3-4 months. For technology we use sandblasting and final painting.I think the problem could be in the technological procedure ..we produce stoves and fireplaces, so the temperatures over 600 *C.
We do not know wich corrosion was in that part which exposed to temperatures .Can be gas corrosion, and how to stop...

Thanks

RE: Corrosion problem in Stove

What type of paint?

RE: Corrosion problem in Stove

What is the usage of this unit?
Has it sat unused much?
It is more likely to be areas that get some oxidation in used, then get damp when not in use.
Is it a real problem or just cosmetic?

We use thermosetting color 1000 *C.Some Corrosin appeared after Burn and after 4-5 months.
One time items are in the warehouse, while not supply a customers. It is a wood-burning stoves and fireplaces.
Recently it started with this problem ..Starts with segments that are most exposed to heat and subsequently spread. After delivery we had a lot of complaints about it .. Here's another picture.
I agree to this corrosion that is caused by lack of sandblasting and Wellding but the real problem with corrosion is shown on the last picture.

hi

I posted this response the other day to the same post in the bearing forum, please don't double post.

Hi
I'm no expert on this but I notice that there are stitch welds adjacent to the surface that is corroded, so I assume there are small crevices where the weld is not complete which might be an area for crevice corrosion.
Is the steel plated in with any protection i.e. zinc or galvanised? if so when the parts are welded then the plating is removed and the corrosion process can start.
Maybe someone with more experience will comment with better information.

RE: Corrosion problem in Stove

The corrosion is in the lower part of the stove where moisture will collect. Combustion produces moisture. The moisture will condense on cooler parts. Even momentary condensation will cause corrosion and your issue seems mostly cosmetic. Obviously your paint is not adequately protecting this part.

RE: Corrosion problem in Stove

Check your sand for chloride levels. And probably use better paint.
