DIP to SOIC Test socket adaptor

DIP to SOIC Test socket adaptor

DIP to SOIC Test socket adaptor

(OP)
Hi,

Hopefully someone will be able to help me.....

I need to test and select a batch of SOIC 16pin IC's on the PEC that its used on to determine which IC's will and which won't work.  Its all to do with the interaction of the IC and the surrounding components!

Basically I am looking for a test socket or adaptor/s that will solder directly onto the footprint of the SOIC and then stand up above the surrounding components with a test bed on top in which I can drop these IC's in and out to determine which ones are usable!

Can anyone suggest any companies who I can contact, or suggest anything else?

Thanks in advance

RE: DIP to SOIC Test socket adaptor

Do a search on socket adapaters.  There are a lot of companies that make exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks.....
I have tried all the search combinations and as you suggest have found quite a few companies that do this kind of thing.  But I have had no success in finding an adaptor with a test bed on top, where the IC can be placed in and out, all I can find is adaptors that convert from say SOIC to DIP and then back to SOIC (which is the kind of thing that I am looking for) but all these have solder pads on the top surface which defeats the object.

Thanks all

I have now found what I am looking for and it is a 'ZIF' apadter and socket.
