corrosion due to magnetic field in submerged motors?

corrosion due to magnetic field in submerged motors?

(OP)
after 1000 hours of testing an electric motor runnig in water/glycol i noticed two large areas of corrosion on the rotor. The two areas of corrsion were located at each end of the magnetic portion of the rotor. The corrosion did not wrap around the circuference of the rotor which makes me believe that this was caused by the magnetic field. Has anyone seen something similar? can this be prevented? some plastic parts near the affected rotor were are corroded. 90% of the rotor remained pristine. The corrosion was localized to ends of the magnetic region of the rotor. The rotor material is inconel 625. motor power is about 1.8 MW

any info would be appreciated,
thanks
