importing circuit boards

(OP)
I am looking for some help getting circuit boards integrated with my pro-E model. A previous engineer has setup an assembly model which utilizes step files of circuit boards generated by a EE using Altium. Within the pro-E assemly we have a wire harndess created using pro/cabling. When we revised the circuit board we have a new layout with a new step file and I am having trouble figuring out how to get the new step file geometry into the existing part files. All of the cabling references are driven off the existing files and I think I'm going to break those connections trying to get the new step file in.

I suppose I could rename the existing files to OBSxxxxx, then create a new assembly with the old file names and re-route the cable references but I'm looking for a better way. Any suggestions?

Thanks
