Can you give me advice why this contour doesn't work in contour flange?

sorry new in NX

RE: problems nx9 contur flange

I only have a guees:
Add a blend to the two sharp corners.

RE: problems nx9 contur flange

The contour flange command requires tangential connections when transitioning from a line to arc and vise-versa. For line to line, or arc to arc, this is not required. All you need to do is add two very small tangent arcs to connect the line to the arc and back to the line.

RE: problems nx9 contur flange

NX does for line-line connections only.

RE: problems nx9 contur flange

By Definition, a flange can have only one bend. So if you want use exactly the geometry that you've shown you will have to create TWO flanges, coming from both ends and then unite them as I've done in the -1 example (see attached zip file containing two examples).

Now jerry1423 was close but you ONLY need to blend ONE corner, as I've done in the -2 example.

Note that in either case, you're able to create a Flat Pattern/Flat Solid of the results.

Anyway, take a look and see if either of these approaches works for you.

RE: problems nx9 contur flange

Actually the approach that jerry1423 and helperug suggested would work. I should have been more specific; when creating any sort of 'Flange', the software can only ADD one new bend. If there are going to be more than one 'bend' in your profile then you're going to have to either supply the additional ones yourself or do the piece-wise approach that I used in my -1 example.
