Factory CAD Library: Prefered CAD formats
Factory CAD Library: Prefered CAD formats
(OP)
Hi.
I have to make a CAD library 30000 parts (Siemens NX).
1.I have to download a lot of parts from the internet, machine components)
2. I have to convert assemblies to parts
3. I have to save as "part" (engineers will make assemblies with this parts)
What is your (engineer) prefered 3D CAD format (download)? I will download "step 203" (Solid) as option 1.
Top 5 prefered part download formats to make assemblies in NX 7.5 ? 8) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 8( and Why?

Why downloading so many machine parts?
have you already searched and installed the Machine Library from NX.
Thousands of standard DIN, ANSI ISO components...

The client wants to have a custom 3D library for components that are registered in the stock. And the 3D parts have to be in particular layers, etc. It is a project of implementation of Teamcenter.
Thanks.

All Parts can be customized to your/Clints commands, like Layers, Part Attributes, Reference Sets, etc.
Most of them are created as Part Families and created to be used in a Reuse Library
I have no information of what type of components you need to download and implement in Teamcenter.
Are you allowed to give more info on the type of components?
Kind regards,

As you pointed out to me several years ago, parasolids can be larger than native if surfaces are involved.
