degassing gas from water question
degassing gas from water question
(OP)
Hay,
does somebody has some know how on oxygen stripping/degassing from water by nitrogen. Does there exist some correlation/equation which provides the amount of nitrogen required for oxygen concentration decrease below some point? I plan to use tank and nitrogen inflow by some perforated road.Columns are excluded!
Any feedback or comment is welcome.
Kind regards
R.

RE: degassing gas from water question
This is very similar to problem I was trying to solve with the Gas Buster (U.S. Patents 8,439,999 and 8,597,402) The video in the link shows it working with entrained gas, but we've found that the pressure cycling that it does also does a reasonable job of reducing dissolved gas. In the animation you'll see that it extracts the entrained gas mechanically, drops the pressure to remove the gas which causes some of the dissolved gases to evolve out, then uses accumulated liquid against a dead end to repressure the vessel to the pre-set backpressure. I have a presentation at Narrated presentation that (among other things) describes the steps in the animation.
Back of the envelope evaluation makes me think the it might be more effective than a nitrogen sparge. Neither is going to get you to ppb levels.
