I have 5 1/8 x 15 glue laminated hip beam (45 degree slope) that is supported by the exterior wall via 4x6 wood post. Any easy detail for connection of the sloped beam to the wood post inside of the wall? Can we notch the GLB?

Check out simpson strong-tie connectors.
For notching the attached link gives some guildlines for how to notch. It will depend on the depth of the notch and its reactiobn, etc.
