Femap 11.1 sometimes crashes analysis started.
(OP)
Hello forum members,
FEMAP 11.1 occasionally gives Windows error and closes when analysis (SOL 101) is started.
This has happened to me on two different machines, one running Windows 7, the other XP, both 64 bit,
with the same file. I then exported the file as a FEMAP neutral, Version 11.0.1, opened it in Version 11.0.1,
and it analyzed OK (on both machines). Has anyone else had similar crashes with 11.1? I'll probably submit the file to tech support to see if they can find any bugs in version 11.1.
Best regards
Jerzy

The way you describe it, is it some kind of bundled solution? I run NEiNastran with Femap for pre and postprocessing and have never experienced any similar problems.

RE: Femap 11.1 sometimes crashes analysis started.
I am running NX Nastran with Femap but I also have a NE Nastran license. The troublesome file
also gave the Windows error when I tried solving the model using NE Nastran. It crashed the same way:
immediately after clicking the "Analyze" button, before either NX Nastran or NE Nastran started.
I have just finished running a very similar model with no problems, so maybe there is some peculiarity
in the file that won't run in 11.1 but will run in 11.0.1. I'll post if I come across this problem again.
These models are made from imported SolidWorks Parasolid files and have several hundred thousand 10-node
tetrahedron solid elements.
