QUALIFICATION THICKNESS LIMITS ASME IX

QUALIFICATION THICKNESS LIMITS ASME IX

QUALIFICATION THICKNESS LIMITS ASME IX

(OP)
Hi,

What is de T range if:

SMAW - Plate 15 mm - V-groove - P6 - PWHT and Impacte tested in PQR

Table QW-451.1 ASME IX said: Over 3/8 (10), but less than 3/4 (19) = 2T for T for base metal.

Someone told me that T = 1.1 x T because Impact test and PWHT performed during the PQR

Is that so and where is this described in te ASME IX?

Thnx!
Patrick

It is not. Read Section IX, Article II, QW-253 for SMAW process and review QW-400 related to the specified variables for impact qualification.
