I am trying to load an .ipt file which was made in inventor 5.3 and now I am trying to load it on the machine I have at home, which has inventor 5.0.

Its very important that I sort this out, so if you have any information that would help me out then by all means reply.

I had the same problem, when we went from inventor 5.3 to 6.0. I looked into this and you can't open a file with a older virsion that was saved in a newer virsion, and you can't save it as an older virsion eather. You needed to have inventor 5.3 on your home machine.
