Hello,

If as a supplier we change the valve end connection from threaded to socket weld then I want to know if we need a new CRN or just do it in a certified shop? any reference or code for this?

Well, you've asked three different questions about valve ends and valve schedules - obviously either you have a problem getting the right valve, or your supplier has that problem.

In this case, what do you define CRN as?

CRN is Canadian Registration number.
I need to know if valve end connection altered from threaded to socket then i need to apply for CRN or as i mentioned need to do it in certified shops or original manufacturer place.

So you have a 3 inch threaded valve. Exactly how do you propose changing it into a socket-weld end prep valve?

The reference code you are looking for is CSA B51. Clause 4 covers registration requirements. You may also want to look at your Provincial regulator to see if they have any other provisions (for Ontario try the TSSA).

Cheers,
K
