Design a curved crawl beam

Design a curved crawl beam

Design a curved crawl beam

(OP)
Hi,

I need to find out the capacity of a crawl beam which has a horizontally curved section. As far as I understand I need to check the bending and torsion of the beam. The two ends of the curved part are supported by other straight beams. My question is, how do I calculate the eccentricity? I found out the flexure analogy and the formular to be used in this type of problems but hard to figure out what is the eccentricity. I will try to attach a small diagram which will explain what I mean. Thank you for your time and support.

RE: Design a curved crawl beam

You may want to post this on the Bridge Eng section. Curved girders are used a LOT for bridges.
