Vessel false bottom with cast concrete

Hi,
To get a flat level at the bottom head of a backwash vessel, our contractor is suggesting to cast concrete inside the head.
Someone, please, has an idea on how the process is done and how, in the future, the inspection of the said head can be performed?

Thanks

RE: Vessel false bottom with cast concrete

Spec-ed it out for a project. You can always inspect from outside.

I would suggest a foam concrete to keep the weight down.

Thanks TGS4 for your response.
In case of any internal damage resulting from corrosion? how to repair?

Thanks again

RE: Vessel false bottom with cast concrete

You don't. Best case scenario is an external lap patch. I would not apply this in corrosive service.
