Parameters for 1mm galvanized steel, Trumpf TruLaser 2030

Parameters for 1mm galvanized steel, Trumpf TruLaser 2030

(OP)
Hi, I am having trouble getting a good cut on 1mm galvanized steel on a Trumpf TruLaser 2030. I need help with parameters.

I get fine burr on the bottom of the cut edge and cannot get a fine cut without slowing it right down. Trying to cut with nitrogen, 5" lens. Also tried 7" lens. Played with focal, feed rate, gas pressure, different nozzle diameters. When cutting at low speed it makes a horrid high pitch noise as it cuts, which gets quieter as the feed rate is increased but cut quality is reduced (cut edge almost looks like it has been ripped, along with burr on bottom edge).

I have almost no issues with any other type of material.

i have been cuting 3/16" galvanized steel with shop air on an amada fo3015nt 4000w. and it seems to work rather well. still a tiny bit of dross on the back but i think that is just the nature of laser cutting the galvanized.

Haven't got around to trying with air yet, but wouldn't that speed the process of oxidation along the cut edge resulting in rust down the track?

Currently using the following parameters. Cut is reasonable but I am sure it could be faster and cleaner

5" lense
1.2mm nozzle
-0.5mm focus
1500W power
10000Hz gating frequency
6.0m/min feed rate
1.0mm nozzle stand off
9 bar gas pressure

I'm not familiar with the Amada tracing system. But I would suggest you post new thread for that new issue.

What Amada tracing system, did you reply to the right thread?

Sorry; yes I posted in wrong thread somehow. Weird. This was for thread "Amada alarm 4063 FO-3015 Fanuc AF4000A".
