PTA Hardfacing 4330V
(OP)
Hi Everyone. Really nice to see this forum. Seems like a wealth of information in here!
I have a question relating to something a customer requested. A piece which where the spec calls for 4340 to be hardfaced, is going to use 4330Vmod instead. Are there any special considerations to be made for this change? Typically for 4340 we would preheat to 600F, interpass maintained at 700F and PWHT by wrapping for an hour and slow cool. What would be done differently for the 4330vmod? Anything I should look out for?
Thanks and regards,
Garth
