No .jnl file in Abaqus directory

No .jnl file in Abaqus directory

No .jnl file in Abaqus directory

(OP)
Good evening everyone,

I'm new to Abaqus and started a tutorial called "Learn Abaqus script in one hour" http://www.overvelde.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/0... . Halfway the document the writer is talking about the .jnl file which will replace the .rec file after saving in the CAE.

I do find the .rec file, before pressing the save button in Abaqus. However, after saving this .rec file disappears but no .jnl is to be found in the directory (C:\\temp). Only the .cae file.

Does anybody recognise this problem? I heard some of my fellow students about it too.

I'm using the Abaqus 6.12 (student license).

Hope someone can help me out.

Hi, Thanks for the response. Still have the same problem.. after saving the cae, the rec is gone but there is no .jnl.

MAybe it is because of the student license?

RE: No .jnl file in Abaqus directory

I also use the Abaqus student license and there is no .jnl file. So its probably because of the student license.
But if you want to work with python scripts, you can use the macro manager to get the abaqus python commands.

I've emailed 3DS-Abaqus about this problem. They indeed told me it's due to the student license. I know save a copy of the .rec file to change the script and then save it as a .py.

Thanks for the response all.
