Jeff is back,

In Pro-Engineer to add the notes to a drawing from a location outside the cad tool you do, Insert, note by file, make note click in the screen and a window opens and you browse to where ever the file is click on it and it's added to the drawing.

In NX I go to annotation, note, import/export, click insert text from file and a window opens and you browse to where ever the file is click on it and it's added to the drawing.

Now in Solidworks I do insert, annotation, note a window opens I do not see anything that allows for importing a note from a location outside the tool.

Once again your help will be appreciated.

Jeff

Copy from Text file and paste into an annotation works real good as well.

You can also embed files.

Create MS Office file. Then drag and drop into SW. You can edit it from inside of SW afterwards.
