boiler operating pressure requirments
boiler operating pressure requirments
(OP)
hello good day. Currently, our power boiler is operating at 33 bars, 370C superheated steam, steam flow at 32 ton per hour. supplying steam to steam turbo-generator, extraction type.
I want to purchase a packaged type boiler to serve as back-up in case the big boiler will be subjected for repair works. The small boiler will supply steam to process only.
Can anyone suggest what will be small boiler specification?

RE: boiler operating pressure requirments
Unless you want to run your generator at some lower efficiency (use non-superheated steam) or lower rating (provide less steam pressure and less steam flow) your temporary boiler will have to be the same rating as the current boiler. How could it be different?
Warning, deliberately running "wet" saturated steam for long periods of time into a turbine designed for superheat properties and flows will likely void warranties.

at Pressure reducing and desuperheating station one, 3 kg/cm2 180 C, the total steam flow req is 23 TPH.
at pressure reducing and desuperheating station two, 6 kg/cm2 350 C, the total steam flow req is 5 tph.
So what will be the small boiler specifications base on these req?
