All,

It has been some time since I posted this question (see the above thread), but in the meantime I stumbled across a different solution to this problem. Somewhere I found the suggestion to use a long piece of angle iron or even just a long rod to connect the nozzle to the bottom of the tank instead of using a dip tube with an anti-siphon hole. The angle iron electrically bonds the hydrocarbon stream with the bulk fluid in the vessel and there is no concern about an anti-siphon hole plugging.

Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing? Is there something else that can go wrong here that I'm not thinking of?

I've seen a length of chain from the nozzle to the bottom of the tank/vessel used.
