DEMA vs NFPA 20 Pump Diesel Engine Drivers

DEMA vs NFPA 20 Pump Diesel Engine Drivers

DEMA vs NFPA 20 Pump Diesel Engine Drivers

(OP)
What is the applicable standard for pump fire protection diesel engine drivers, DEMA (Diesel Engine Manufacturers Association) or the NFPA. The diesel engine drivers I've found so far are all compliant to NFPA 20. Is DEMA been outdated by NFPA 20?

Thanks,

RE: DEMA vs NFPA 20 Pump Diesel Engine Drivers

Good day!

Iam not aware about the fire protection requirement of the diesel engine driver, what is mention in the NFPA 20 is the requirement of the fire pump buildings or rooms with diesel engine .

hope it helps,

RE: DEMA vs NFPA 20 Pump Diesel Engine Drivers

DEMA is not recognized by NFPA 20. The engine along with the pump and is associated components are required to be constructed as a unit assembly and is listed as such by the NRTL such as FM Global or UL.
