Elsa suddenly on software OpenGL

I wonder of someone has encountered that Elsa Synergy II suddelny is not working correctly (cursor flicking in sketch mode) and option of "Use Software OpenGL" appeared in SW2001+ SP5.1 options? Could it be that it came with SP3 of Win 2000?

BR,
Linqur

RE: Elsa suddenly on software OpenGL

Is the "Use Software..." checked? And what is it's setting if NO part file is open (just and empty SW)?

With NO doc open, it shouldn't be checked. If a doc is open, it should be grayed out.

If it suddenly got checked, them perhaps a new SP or installation did it...? Unless your card just partially died...

It is greyed out when doc opened but
unchecked and NOT greyed out when nothing opened.

So it is unchecked with no doc open and when the doc is open, it is "checked" and grayed out?

Yep.
Also I noticed that this issue of sketch is gone when log in as another user. I cannot figure out if there is possible to set something in SW optins to mess it up..

Then I would contact your VAR if its still giving you problems. It could be as simple as a driver issue. I know your tired of hearing this, but check your drivers maybe even reinstall them. Also check with http://www.solidworks.com/swdocs/support/html/videoissues/videotest.cfm and make sure your have the right drivers for your card.

I hope this helps you,

RE: Elsa suddenly on software OpenGL

HEY! I've been having WEIRD troubles with my Elsa Gloria II since downloading the latest updates for Windows 2000. As far as I can tell, everything was fine with SP5.1, but who knows? I wasn't working on this size assembly file then, so maybe I didn't notice. I downloaded SP3 awhile ago (Aug. 21st), but recently I downloaded the "recommended updates" and a couple "security updates". Maybe something got screwed up then? Could it be that BOTH of our video cards quit at the same time? Probably not.  The GOOD NEWS is that my new computer just arrived on the dock! I've never gotten excited about computer equipment before this! I don't care about what's under the hood as long as I can get my work done without it locking up or crashing....but my boss MADE me buy it, so....P4 2.26, 533Mhz buss,1GB DDR, 40Gb(7200rpm)HD,1000Mbps NIC,Nvidia Quadro4 750XGL(128Mb)GC, 21" Monitor and a NEW CHAIR! YA!

I'm gonna try "uninstalling" the last 2 W2000 "recommended updates" and see what it does??? FYI, they are #Q327269 & Q328523, you might want to go to the "Windows Update" webpage and look at the "Installation History" for your machine and see if you've installed either 1 of these recently. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE!  Thanks, Bill
