lubrication film

(OP)
Hi,

I'm trying to simulate a assembly process with a steel on steel contact. The problem is, that the lubrication is decreasing during assembly, and so the friction is way-dependent. Is there any way to modell this? I've tried to use partitions on one of the two contacting partners, but because the contact area is increasing the other one is contacting several partitions at the same time. So i cannot get real values for the actual friction... Is there any other way to implement this?

Best regards ;)

Hey

imagine one block of steel(let's say the upper one) sliding on another under high pressure. The upper one starts to slide and the contact area increases. Now my problem is that during the sliding process the resulting friction coefficient changes because of a decrease of lubrication and a smoothing of the surfaces. So I need to make the friction coefficient dependent on the position of the upper block. I startet to partition the bottom block, so that i can change the friction coefficient. Now the problem is, that the upper block contacts over a contact area so the actual friction coefficient is kind of a mean value of the ones defined in the partitions. Lets say my upper contact block contacts exactly three partitions with µ=0.01 µ=0.02 and µ=0.03 the general µ will be 0.02. Because i want to validate this coefficient with real a real process this solution is not really satisfiying.

In my simulation I specify a way and get a force as result. Now I'm searching for a solution to make the friction coefficient (maybe with soubroutine fric or Fric_coeff ) as a function of the sliding way. For example block has slided one milimeter do friction coefficient changes about delta_µ=0.001.

Best regards ;)

hi

Please i would like to ask you something. How we can introduce lubrication in abaqus?? thanks a lot
