Part of pipe weld

Part of pipe weld

I have a question considering weld that is both circumferential and longitudinal. Basically part of pipe needs to be cut down and they welded back together, between welds in both direction there is a radius of course. My question is: is there similar examples in ASME to look in to it?

RE: Part of pipe weld

If you are asking about the intersection of the circumferential and longitudinal seam weld caps, no there is not. I, and most weld inspectors, want to see at least a tiny radius. A larger radius is slightly better, IMHO. "Mother Nature" never made a square corner, so we need to avoid them whenever possible. They cause stress concentrations.

Thx for answer, yes we put quite a big radius but I was wondering if there is some special section in ASME on this, obviously there isn't.
