hello all,
at present i am involved in a design of control valves for continuous blow down steam service. In general, what are the limiting operating conditions that needs for mutistage trims. and the method to find the no of stages required for the service.

What are the operating parameters of the steam/process you're dealing with (temp/pressure)?

To be honest, if you're designing control valves you should be telling us, not the other way around. Does your company not have any design guides / senior engineers to help you??

Avoiding critical flow at any stage sounds like a good idea to start with.
