Set the size of NX graphics window, pixels x pixels ?

Set the size of NX graphics window, pixels x pixels ?

(OP)
Does anybody know a way to adjust the size of the graphics window to a specific size in pixels ?

I am currently creating a few training exercises for in-house use.
Doing this i found that if i set the graphics window to say 320x250 pixels , i will get consistent good images for the exercise.
I then dump the entire window using Snagit ( -lovely piece of software!) and i have found that it works better to dump a small image where the zooming /panning has been done than trying to crop/shrink a large image and then keep whatever interesting still in the picture, with sharpness.

Using the High quality image - information i can read the current size of the graphics window in pixels, - But is there a way to set the graphics window to , say, 320 x 250 pixels ?

I know that the settings are stored in the Registry and that i can export/import this to get the size back, but it requires a restart of NX to take effect.

I tried creating a journal and then resized but it does not seem to record this action.-or ?
Ufunc ?
Grip ?
KF ?

Thanks in advance,
Tomas

Not that I am aware of.
Although in SnagIt you can set the size of a rectangular image.

@Toost, not sure if it will work for you, but try using Sizer: http://www.brianapps.net/sizer/
I use it with Snagit to set the NX window to 1920 x 1080 for recording video clips. You can create hotkeys for sizing a window to exact size & lcoation (even which monitor).

RE: Set the size of NX graphics window, pixels x pixels ?

That was a great little find Anthony, but I have a bit more information. If you go to that site and download and install the 'appt', at least on Windows 7, it will only work well with 32-bit versions of NX. They have a 64-bit beta version of the 'Sizer' tool, that is mentioned at the bottom of the site's page and which I installed the lastest copy of and it seems to work well with BOTH 32-bit and 64-bit versions of NX. The reason that this will be important is because anyone wanting use this really handy little tool with NX 9.0, will NEED the 64-bit version. If you try using the 32-bit version with NX 9.0, or any 64-bit version of NX, you don't get the dynamic read-out and if you press MB3 to pop-up the list of predefined sizes, you're forced to select one of them as hitting 'Esc' will not exit the tool, like it does when using this with 32-bit applications.

Anyway, it looks like this will be a handy tool to have when, as Anthony said, you want to use something like 'Snagit' to capture what's happening during an NX session and you'd like to be cosistant when using something less than the maximum possible screen size.

Thank you Anthony...

- Brilliant ! Thanks Anthony!
Case Closed.
( Even if it took me a few minutes to understand how to use it...)

Didier ?
What isn't working well ?

I downloaded the 64 bit version. Runs perfect for my needs.
After download of the 64 bit version.
extract to any folder.
Double click the sizer.exe
Then right-click the lower-right corner of any window and select one of the predefined sizes.
Or select the "new entry" and set up the desired size, in my case 320x250

Tomas
