Knowledge Fusion basics

(OP)
Hello,

I was wondering if there is any step by step description for knowledge fusion?

Or is there anyone who can tell me what the basic settings are to use this function?

Im doing internship and my job is to make master model which I can adjust by changing some parameters in an Excel sheet.
There are some stock parts that the company delivers so I have some driven dimensions. I think this will work by making a part family for these parts.
When I change one dimensions of a other part, it should load automatically the right part family member.

Maybe there is another way to get there?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

RE: Knowledge Fusion basics

thats no knowledge fusion thing,
adding a partfamily /choose PFmember you can work with criteria - insert a measurement or a feature parameter, when change this measurement, parameter, force a (assemblies -> components->) update partfamily member will force to change the child member...
hope it helps

Hi,

Thanks for your answer! I tried it but I can't figure out how it really works. I made a new assembly with the part families. When I select to add the master part, a dialog opened. And indeed I could make a criteria. But I don't know how they will be linked together.

For example, when I have two simple blocks assembled. One of them have a part family. I want a Excel sheet with all necessary values of the entire assembly. When I change one value of the part without the part family, I want that the part with part family updates automatically to the part member that fits the best on the new size.

Thanks in advance!

Tim

RE: Knowledge Fusion basics

have you ever thought about an assembly partfamily,
from assembly partfamily spreadsheet you can control whitch pf member to use, ( used PF children must be created - exist)
hope it helps

No, actually I'm very new to this program and i'm learning new functions very quickly every day thanks to this forum.

So if i'm right, I should make a (master)assembly and then go to

Tools->Part Family

Then select the expressions and create the excel sheet?

Thanks
