Abaqus 6.13: C++ runtime installation error

Abaqus 6.13: C++ runtime installation error

Abaqus 6.13: C++ runtime installation error

(OP)
Hello,

I am currently attempting to install Abaqus 6.13.

Unfortunately, during installation the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime libraries were not properly installed. I get an error indicating:

"Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 runtime libraries installation error" (see attached picture)

Moreover, after installing the C++ runtime libraries as described in the error, the same error was noted. Upon selecting 'continue' and proceeding with the installation, the Abaqus Verification has indicated that numerous errors had occurred.

As such, I would like to review the documents listed in the error: "for more information see QA00000008590 in the 3DS Knowledge Base", as well as the verification files: see "Abaqus answer 4302". Unfortunately, as an academic user, I cannot access the 3DS knowledge base.

Oddly, I did not have any problems when installing the runtime libraries with 6.11.

If anyone has any experience with this and could provide some insight, or provide the documents QA00000008590 in the 3DS Knowledge Base, or "Abaqus answer 4302". It would be greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, the 3DS support has been unresponsive so far...

Many thanks.

For those who are interested:

it appears that my issues were not due to MS C++ Runtime Libraries, but rather a bug with Abaqus 6.13-2 and 4th Generation Intel i7 Processors.
