Motion Simulation in NX (7.5, 8.0 or 9.0)
Motion Simulation in NX (7.5, 8.0 or 9.0)
(OP)
Hi,
I am going to move to a new chapter in NX: Motion Simulation.
As always, I am very excited to learn about this, but I prefer to start with the basics.
Any direction from you regarding my initiative would be very strong appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Motion simulation interface is quite intuitive and you can easily find yourself connected with what exactly it does. More or less the complete set of utilities cover (link generation, restraining the motion using different joints connection ,drivers and plotting of required results)
You can start testing it on some simple assemblies (let us say a four bar mechanism). Checking the gruebler count will validate the mechanism feasibility
In addition you can perform dynamic analysis (contact and friction parameters taken into account).
If you have some query do post it on forum perhaps that will help brush my rustic knowledge too.
All the best.

- the basics / Fundamentals ?
- do's and don'ts ?

Toost, I am interested in Basic/Fundamentals.
Can you, please, post something related to my inquire?

If you are interested in basic theory for kinematics then this link may be of some help https://archive.org/details/kinematicsofmach00durl....
As far as NX motion is concerned ..i am not usre but have you looked into NX CAST (i have not used it for a while and cannot recollext even if Motion was a part of it)also.
