Trouble opening AutoCAD LT 97 file

Trouble opening AutoCAD LT 97 file

(OP)
I am trying to open an AutoCAD LT 97 drawing file in AutoCAD 2002, but I keep getting an out of memory error.

Any ideas?

Make sure you have at least 100 Mb of space free on your local hard drive.

RE: Trouble opening AutoCAD LT 97 file

It may be a corrupted file.
I do not think AutoCAD LT drawings can have embedded apps that could perhaps run away.
Have you tried to RECOVER rather than OPEN the file ?

No corrupted file, any file over 1.6MB apparently. I came up with a work around, but it's a pain. I open in AutoCAD R14, then convert to R12, then open in 2002 no problem.
