heat transfer between two surfaces

heat transfer between two surfaces

heat transfer between two surfaces

(OP)
Hi
I'm trying to model radiation between two surfaces(there are two seperated models).
i tried to define cavity radiation for both of them and i chose closed form(in the Interaction part,(cavity radition)
when i want to get results there is an error about Viewfactor and it says that there is no ambient temperature.
so i tried Open(when defining Cavity Radition)and i defined the ambient temperature this time it runs successfully but the answer is wrong because it only shows that both surfaces and their whole bodies have the same temperature of ambient.

p.s one of the surfaces has much higher temperature than the other surface and much higher than ambient's temperature(for the warmer surface i used Boundary condition(so that it stays constant) and the other colder surface has initial condition for it's temp)
please help me
you can see my model in attachment

thanks

RE: heat transfer between two surfaces

It doesn't make sense that both surfaces have the same temperature as ambient if you'd fixed the temperature of one of the surfaces. It sounds like that the surfaces don't see each other at all and that one surface only sees the ambient temperature, and hence the temperature is at ambient (at steady state with no other heat input). Check your cavity definition.
