Regain the Memory!!!!
Regain the Memory!!!!
(OP)
Morning all,
I've done some searches but can't track down exactly what I'm looking for. I'm running Windows 7 64Bit, 8GB RAM, quad core graphics/processor (AMD) & NX 7.5 and when I'm opening large models I appreciate it uses a lot of memory. My problem is, I am opening small bits of the assembly at a time to find stuff! (Long story) But when I close those bits of the assembly my memory usage still shows high, and obviously gets higher and higher the more I open.
The usage only drops when I close the whole assembly, is there a way that after closing parts of the assembly I can regain that memory? Therefore avoiding potential memory failures.
Hope this makes sense!
Cheers in advance!

RE: Regain the Memory!!!!
Now if you'd like to stop at some point during this process of opening and closing Components and work on your Assembly and you'd like to 'recover' as much memory as possible, you could try this procedure; when you get to where you'd like to start working after your step-by-step process of opening Components is complete, just save a 'Bookmark' of your Assembly, then close the Assembly but instead of reopening the Assembly Part file itself, simply open the 'Bookmark' instead. I'm not sure how much help this will be, but it should help some.

Does increasing the amount of RAM usually help this situation out ?

Next system build, which could be soon going to go for as much RAM as I can!
