Intelligent fasteners

(OP)
Hello everyone,

Do you know where can I get more info on intelligent fasteners (like i-bolt or ultrasonic fasteners) that are installed on the 787 Dreamliner?
Is there any article or web ressources that can help?
Thanks

RE: Intelligent fasteners

I do not think Intevia is a continuing concern. Textron Fastening Systems has devolved into Acument Global Technologies plus the spin-off Infastech, which was purchased by Stanley. The Intevia trademark is dead according to USPTO and none of the companies advertise the product.

true enough ... more digging shows these posts were from 2004

though there is a patent application from the Boeing Company et al from 2010 ...

Is it qualified for B787?

RE: Intelligent fasteners

are you doing work on a B787 (if so ask them about qualified processes ... i'd'be willing to bet they'd insisit that you use their approved processes),
or are you trying to replicate the B787 ?
